1. Who we are
BLFFD is a party trivia game published by Piece of Web ("we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy explains how we handle information when you use the BLFFD mobile app or visit blffd.com.
2. Information we collect
Account data
When you create an account we store your display name, email address (if provided), and an internal user ID. We don't ask for your real name, address, or date of birth.
Gameplay data
To run matches and show stats, we record things like games played, rounds completed, scores, lobbies you've hosted or joined, and which questions you've already seen so we don't repeat them.
Technical data
Like most apps, we automatically collect basic technical information: device type and OS version, app version, language setting, IP address (used for routing and abuse prevention, not stored long-term), and crash logs. This helps us keep the app stable and debug issues.
Communications
If you contact us via the support form, email, or Discord, we keep the message and your reply address so we can follow up.
Advertising
BLFFD shows ads through Google AdMob, a Google service. To serve ads, AdMob may access your device's advertising identifier (such as the Google Advertising ID or Apple's IDFA) along with general technical data like your IP address, device type, and how you interact with ads. You can reset this identifier or limit ad tracking at any time from your device's privacy settings.
3. How we use your information
- To run game lobbies, sync players in real time, and keep your stats.
- To make sure you don't see the same trivia question twice in a row.
- To diagnose crashes, performance issues, and bugs.
- To prevent abuse, cheating, and spam in public lobbies.
- To respond to your support requests and feature ideas.
- To send occasional product updates — only if you opt in.
- To show ads through Google AdMob, which keeps BLFFD free to play.
4. Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the game. They only receive what they need to do their job:
- Apple App Store / Google Play — distribution and crash reports.
- Cloud infrastructure (servers) — to host game lobbies and store your account.
- Analytics — anonymous, aggregated usage stats so we know which features people actually use.
- Google AdMob — to display ads in the app. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
We never sell your data. We do show ads through Google AdMob (above) to keep the game free, but we don't hand your account details — like your email — to advertisers. You can switch to non-personalized ads from your device's settings.
5. Your rights
You have control over your data at any time:
- Access — request a copy of what we hold about you.
- Correction — update your account info from inside the app.
- Deletion — delete your account and its data yourself in the app, or ask us to do it for you (steps below).
- Opt out — disable analytics and marketing emails in the app settings, and limit personalized ads from your device's privacy settings.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] from your account address. We'll respond within 30 days.
How to delete your account
You can permanently delete your account and its data from inside the app — you don't need to email us:
- Open the BLFFD app.
- Go to your Profile.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
Prefer that we handle it? Email [email protected] from your account address and we'll delete it for you. Either way, identifiable data is removed within 30 days.
6. Data retention
We keep account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove identifiable data within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymous stats (e.g., "X questions were answered correctly this week") may be kept for product analytics.
7. Children
BLFFD is rated for teens and older. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS for all traffic, encrypted storage on our servers) and limit who on the team can access player data. No system is 100% secure, but we treat your data carefully.
9. International transfers
Our servers may be located outside your country. By using BLFFD, you agree that your data can be transferred to and processed in those countries, with the same protections described in this policy.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. For major changes, we'll also notify you in the app.
11. Contact us
Privacy questions, data requests, or anything else — email us at [email protected] or use our contact form.
This policy is provided for transparency. It is not legal advice. If you're a developer building on top of BLFFD or have specific compliance needs (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), reach out and we'll work with you directly.
